Financial Disclaimer
The most important page on this site. It explains exactly what our content is, what it is not, and why that distinction protects you.
Last updated: 12 September 2026
The short version
Everything here is financial education, not financial advice. Nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything, and none of it takes account of your personal circumstances.
1. Education, not advice
HHAR Consulting LLC and The Amy Invest Edu Blog provide financial literacy education. We explain how things work and what concepts are worth researching. We do not tell you what to do with your money.
Aminat Lawal is a financial literacy coach. She is not a licensed financial adviser, investment adviser, broker-dealer, accountant, tax adviser or attorney, and nothing on this site should be treated as though she were.
2. No advisory relationship
Reading this site, subscribing to the newsletter, sending a question through the “Ask Amy Invest” form, buying the book, or attending a coaching session does not create an adviser-client, fiduciary, or professional relationship of any kind.
3. Nothing here is a recommendation
Where a fund, platform, product or strategy is named anywhere on this site or in our replies, it is named as a teaching example. It is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or a suggestion that it suits you.
We do not know your income, debts, tax position, family obligations, risk tolerance, time horizon or goals. Advice that ignores those things is not advice worth taking.
4. Investments carry risk
- The value of investments can fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you put in.
- Past performance does not predict future results.
- We make no predictions about the direction of any market, and you should be sceptical of anyone who does.
5. Verify the details yourself
Fund names, tickers, fees, holdings and platform terms change, and published information goes out of date. Always confirm current details against the provider's own factsheet or documentation before acting on anything.
Content on this site reflects our understanding at the time of writing and is not routinely updated afterwards.
6. Shariah-compliant content
Where we discuss halal or shariah-compliant investing, we describe how screening generally works and give examples of screened products. We are not a shariah advisory board and we do not issue religious rulings. If a decision matters to you on religious grounds, consult a qualified scholar or the fund's own shariah supervisory board.
7. Calculators are illustrations
The calculators on this site are simplified teaching tools. They use the assumptions you enter, ignore tax, fees, inflation and market variability unless stated, and are not projections of what will happen to your money.
8. Replies to your questions
When you send a question through the site, any reply you receive is general educational information written in response to what you told us. It is not personal advice, it is not tailored to your full circumstances, and it should not be the only thing you rely on.
9. Links to other sites
We sometimes link to third-party sites, products and services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or practices. A link is not an endorsement.
10. Speak to a professional
Before making an investment, tax, debt or insurance decision, speak to a licensed professional regulated in your own country who can look at your full situation. That is the step this site is designed to prepare you for, not replace.
